The baby was crying since the time it woke up. Whole house ranted with I cries. Alike any other modern family where only one child occupied total attention of parents, thus child too had taken the privilege of earning all attention. Both parents, grandparents, maidservants, all making best effort to calm the baby, to no avail.
Her recent interest in chocolate, spicy snacks, chips every thing was being offered. She took each ,ate them yet again repeatedly ask for more. Her regular breakfast time had passed away. The food lay on table. She had no interest in eating it but how long could tit bits consumer hunger. Soon she felt hungry and started crying.
Morning to afternoon this went on. It was a working day. Leaving the child in care of the maid the couple continued with their tap on their respective laptops.
TV roared its programs one by one. “Main nani se kah doongi.”
Grandmother ‘s eyes turned towards the baby. She was engrossed in her book.
She saw the baby was repeatedly hitting on the arm of the old maid. She gave a stern gaze. Perhaps it lent a small learning for the child.there was a pause of a few minutes.
“Mujhe aise bolegi?”
“kya bol rahi hai?”asked the old lady
Dekhiye na kya bol rahi hai! “
Mai kah doongi mamma se,tu mujhe maarti hai.
Main tujhe maarti hoon, ulta tu hi mujhe maar rahi..” maid laughed at the remark of the baby.
“Kahan se ye sab seekhti hai?”grandmother was surprised .
“Abhi to school mhi nahi ja rahi.”
“Wo jo TV per dekhti hai naa, usei hi dohrati hai.”
It was true and there was no solution to the problem. Entertaining a child, continuously from morning to night with no outdoor activities as regular school during lockdown of Covid19 since more than one and half year, had taken away all Joy’s of children. However adults were no exception. Various diseases as depression insomnia anxiety had taken its score. Therefore there was only one option left, that was the TV. Its repercussion could not be avoided. One after the other programs for children and adults played.
